We are looking for a Project Manager within Axel Johnson International AB’s Headquarters, with the focus on Product Compliance and Chemical Management. You report to the Head of Sustainability, who is also part of the Group Management Team, and work closely with the entire Sustainability Team. Your location is flexible, and the role includes travelling internationally.
About the role:
As Project manager, you will be responsible for managing Axel Johnson International’s Product Compliance program and support our companies to plan and implement the program to ensure compliance with relevant Product related legislation. The focus for the role will be on REACH, RoHS and Conflict Minerals related legislation. We also foresee that the Project Manager contributes to the development and implementation of our strategy for Circular Economy as well as our Sustainable Customer Offer Guideline.
Axel Johnson International includes mostly trading companies with distribution of private label brands and branded products and solutions within the segments of, lifting equipment, goods securing and vehicle components, drivelines, pumps, power transmission as well as automation solutions.
You will be a part of a dedicated team that supports the companies. Each member has their own area of responsibility, but the team works closely together with the joint goal of furthering the business and to help the companies position themselves at the forefront of their fields. It is a dynamic environment, and you will be able to contribute to the Group’s strategy.
Your job responsibilities include:
- Develop and manage Axel Johnson International’s Product Compliance Program
- Support the companies in planning and leading projects to ensure product compliance and substitution.
- Arrange trainings and education in Product compliance.
- Monitor upcoming legislation related to Product compliance.
- Be part of the development of our Circular Economy strategy and Guideline for Sustainable Customer Offer
- Support individual companies in pilot projects related to Product compliance and materials.
- Set common KPIs to follow up the companies’ performance

The focus of the role will be on Product Compliance; therefore, it is essential that you have good knowledge and experience from working with implementation of the relevant legislation in an EU-based company. You probably have a degree in engineering or equivalent with more than five years of experience in a similar role at a large company or as a consultant.
You speak and write English fluently. Since you will be working closely with the companies to improve their processes, you are communicative and outgoing, and you enjoy a high pace of work. You are independent in your role and analytical in your way of thinking. You have an open mind and are good at pushing projects forward and engaging colleagues and suppliers. You are good at gathering information and presenting it in an understandable way. We take for granted that you have a strong interest in the business.
