Sustainability Controller

Axel Johnson International, Sveavägen 151, Stockholm

Company Axel Johnson International

Employment type Full time

We are now seeking a Sustainability Controller for the group’s headquarters in central Stockholm. You will work in an international environment in a wide-ranging role. You will belong to the Group Control team, which currently comprises six people, and you will report to the Head of Group Control. The group is responsible for the consolidation and reporting of the group’s figures, as well as the integration and development of accounting and reporting at the group’s subsidiaries. In this role, you are offered the opportunity to work in an acquisition-intensive environment with many points of contact in the group’s subsidiaries.

As a Sustainability Controller, you will be a key player in the group’s sustainability efforts and develop, drive, and implement reporting of sustainability data according to the EU’s directive on corporate sustainability reporting (CSRD). As part of Group Control, you will work on the implementation of sustainability reporting and lead the work for the annual report related to these issues. This requires knowledge of national and international sustainability frameworks and the ability to drive the collection and management of sustainability data from the group.

We are looking for someone with an academic degree and 4-6 years of work experience, probably from a similar role as a Sustainability Controller or from an audit firm with further development in the field of sustainability reporting (CSRD). You also have a good basic understanding or previous experience in financial reporting.

Main tasks and responsibilities as a Sustainability Controller:

Compilation of the group’s various sustainability data reports
Establishing a structure for sustainability reporting in the annual report
Involved in setting up a structure for data collection, reporting, and monitoring of sustainability data
Ensuring internal control over sustainability data
Monitoring/coordinating legislation, regulations, and news around reporting standards
Developing and following up on compliance with regulations and frameworks, e.g., the EU Taxonomy, CSRD, and ESRD
Participation in annual audits of, for example, sustainability reporting

As an individual, we see that you are meticulous, responsible, and have a willingness to learn new things. You have a lot of self-drive, enjoy taking your own initiatives, and contribute to a good atmosphere in the work group. The group is characterized by an absence of prestige and great humility, where you as an individual are expected to help your colleagues when and where it is needed. Since you will be working in an international group with different points of contact, you communicate fluently in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing.

As an employee at Axel Johnson International, you are offered an attractive workplace with an open climate where employees have the opportunity to influence.
