Business Development Manager to Axel Johnson International – Driveline Solutions

Axel Johnson International is seeking a Business Development Manager to join Driveline Solutions, a business group focused on driveline systems and related solutions for Mobile Off-Highway, Marine Workboat, and Industrial applications.

About the role

As a Business Development Manager, you will be part of the central Driveline Solutions team, focusing on business development, digitalization, strategy, and M&A activities at both group and company levels. Projects range from strategy planning and pre-acquisition screening to hands-on digitalization and local business development initiatives, such as evaluating and implementing business opportunities or supporting internal and digital projects.

Success in this role requires strong personal drive, independence, and a team-oriented mindset. The ideal candidate is outgoing, relationship-focused, and capable of managing diverse personalities and situations. Strong project planning and management skills are essential, along with a genuine technical interest—though prior experience in technology is not required.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Plan and perform various projects, with focus on group strategy, business development with local companies and digital development.
  • Responsible for running the yearly strategy process towards the companies.
  • Plan and perform group collaboration and knowledge sharing forums and pop-up sessions within the business group.
  • Lead selected work streams in the implementation and development of the PIM platform.
  • Participate in the M&A activities with focus on screening, coordination and acquisition process support.
  • Assist Driveline Solutions management team in various different group matters and activities. E.g. arranging yearly managing director conferences, kick-off sessions, workshops and team building activities.
  • Manage part of the group’s administration, reporting and data collection work. Examples; manage data collection of business strategy data, part of board material, and project overview.

What we are looking for

  • 3-5 years of work experience in a relevant role, management consultancy, project management, or commercial/operational role in technology driven company
  • A good knowledge in finance and business acumen is valued.
  • Knowledge and experience in strategy development. Furthermore, the following knowledge and skills will be valuable: Set up and run projects, experience from sales, knowledge of digital business systems, experience from working abroad and/or multicultural organization.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with different teams as well as external partners to enable effective business development execution.

This is an international role covering a wide range of business areas and cultures, requiring occasional travel. The position offers flexibility and can evolve based on the employee’s strengths and interests, while maintaining close collaboration with both the central team and key stakeholders across the group.
