Axel Johnson International’s subsidiary Sverull acquires majority shareholding in EMC Elmotorcentralen

Sverull ElektroDynamo AB, part of Axel Johnson International’s business area Power Transmission Solutions, strengthens its position in Skellefteå through the acquisition of the majority shareholding in EMC Elmotorcentralen. As of January 2, 2023, EMC will operate as a subsidiary of Sverull.

“The acquisition of the majority in EMC strengthens our position in Skellefteå and is fully in line with our strategy to offer our customers both products and services. EMC is a very well-run company with experienced and competent staff.” says Fredrik Stjernholm, CEO of Sverull.

EMC was founded in Skellefteå in 1948 and specializes in sales and repair of electromechanical equipment, with a focus on remanufacturing and rewinding of motors. EMC collaborates with market-leading suppliers such as ABB, VEM, Busck and Xylem. The clientele is concentrated in the Skellefteå region and with its long experience in the industry, EMC has a good relationship with their customers and holds a strong market position in the region.

“Sverull and EMC both work with similar customers and discussions about a transaction have been ongoing over the past year. We see that our and Sverull’s way of working is very similar, which has been of great importance in this deal. With Sverull’s expertise and product portfolio, we are fully convinced that EMC as a company will continue to develop positively”, says Robin Gyllengahm, CEO of EMC.

The transaction will become effective on January 2, 2023.
